  • Kahawa is the Kiswahili word for coffee, and I chose this name not only because of the color, but also because I was able to document many beautiful memories from my travels in Kenya with this collection. I first released this collection in 2017, at that time still using leather I had dyed myself. Now I’ve been able to source the perfect, pre-dyed leather from a tannery, which is why this collection is once again available in an improved form. Over time and with use, the leather develops a beautiful glossy patina, growing richer and more unique with age.

The Antiquaria version is inspired by the aesthetics of traditionally bound books. Its hand-shaped spine, with harmoniously placed raised bands, recalls classic leather bindings and lends the cover a timeless, bibliophilic character. It is a homage to the book as an object: to careful binding, durable materials, and the beauty of craftsmanship.

The Antiquaria version speaks to everyone who appreciates the feeling of holding something genuine and enduring in their hands—drawing inspiration from historic libraries, antique folios, and artisanal bookbinding culture.

A design for lovers of the classic style: refined, high-quality, and made to last for many years.
