  • Hylaea: a name with history. This collection was originally titled Hidden Treasure, inspired by a secret garden in the heart of Nairobi. But as one chapter closes, another opens, and now it carries a name that feels even more deeply rooted to me.

Hylaea was the term Alexander von Humboldt used for the tropical rainforest of the Amazon lowlands: a symbol of the magic of primeval forests. At the same time, Hylaea is also the name of a genus of moths: Hylaea fasciaria lives in shady, damp spruce forests, the very places where I feel most at home. Together, these layers weave a poetic story of transformation and new beginnings.

I first introduced this collection several years ago, but it now returns in a refined form. This time, I have chosen a deep blue-green leather from a traditional Italian tannery. It is vegetable-tanned, of the highest quality, and develops a unique, glossy patina over time, making every piece of Hylaea more beautiful with each passing day.

The Antiquaria version is inspired by the aesthetics of traditionally bound books. Its hand-shaped spine, with harmoniously placed raised bands, recalls classic leather bindings and gives the cover a timeless, bibliophilic character. It is a homage to the book as an object: to careful binding, durable materials, and the beauty of craftsmanship.

The Antiquaria version appeals to all who cherish the feeling of holding something genuine and enduring in their hands, drawing inspiration from historic libraries, antique folios, and artisanal book culture.

A design for lovers of the classic style: clear, refined, and made to last for many years.
